Chris Carlin

Chris "The Continent" Carlin (born September 16, 1972 in Morristown, New Jersey) is an American television and radio personality. Carlin is the main host of Geico SportsNite on local New York cable television station SNY. Until 2013, Carlin and on-air partner Bob Ojeda co-hosted pre- and post-game telecasts for New York Mets games on SNY.〔http://web.sny.tv/announcers/mets_onair.jsp#carlin〕 Carlin is the play-by-play voice for Rutgers football and men's basketball games and is a co-host of the SNY programs ''Beer Money!'' (a quiz show-type program) and Loudmouths (a ''PTI''-esque discussion program).〔http://web.sny.tv/announcers/mets_onair.jsp#carlin〕 He was previously employed by WFAN in New York,〔http://web.sny.tv/announcers/mets_onair.jsp#carlin〕 where he had hosted a weekday morning sports talk show as well as contributing to Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton's morning show on the station. Carlin still does guest-host stints for WFAN from time to time.
==Early life==
He grew up in Chatham Township, New Jersey.〔(Chris Carlin profile ), WFAN. Accessed June 19, 2007. "Chris grew up in Chatham Township, New Jersey, and attended Oratory Prep High School in Summit."〕 After graduating Oratory Preparatory School in Summit, New Jersey, he went on to major in English in college, graduating from Hobart College in 1995. He started his broadcasting career at WEOS FM in Geneva, under the mentorship of the legendary Mike Black, broadcasting sports of his alma mater, Hobart & William Smith Colleges, including Football, Basketball, and Lacrosse and Minor League Baseball. He was the station's sports director and also hosted a sports talk show.
He formerly broadcast Minor League Baseball for the Geneva (1993) & Williamsport (1994–95) Cubs – currently known as the Williamsport Crosscutters. He also called college football games for Bucknell University and did both radio studio hosting and preseason play-by-play for the New York Giants radio and television (for preseason) broadcasts for several years. Carlin has also worked on broadcasts of men's lacrosse for the NCAA and the now-defunct NFL Europa on the NFL Network.
